Layrite fouder Donnie Hawley in 1999 was looking for a product to make the style of his clients' haircuts perfect. His entire barbering and technique was challenged by the traditional petroleum-based products his clients used to use that were difficult to rinse out. Never wanting to limit style, but striving for an ever-higher standard as a barber, Donnie wanted to find a solution. The end result was a water-soluble pomade formulated to have a hold like a wax but washable like a ge! Since then, Layrite men's grooming products have become a benchmark for upscale traditional barbershops.
